Your IP Address has been selected ads?
In these past few days I've been noticing those "you've won" types of ads on my facebook and other websites. I usually use Firefox so I checked Chrome and it's the same there too. I ran a scan with AVG and it said my comp was clean. Is this a virus?? Uch I dunno where it could've come from I usually frequent the same websites. Help?!

Those "you've won" ads are all scams, but the ad agencies that handle them won't dump the ads until someone proves the company behind the ad is a scam.
Every website gets hit with them, it takes a while for them to disappear. Only thing I can suggest is to email the website and complain about those ads. I still get regular mail to my house from "travel agencies" that tell me I have won a free airplane flight to the destination of my choice - all I have to do is call to confirm. And I sometimes get telephone calls like that too. Every one of them is a bait - they want me to pay some sort of "handling fee" or "registration fee" or "taxes up front". I hang up on them now, they aren't worth the trouble of calling them scams. |
