Can teachers really lose their jobs if they add you facebook? - ashley. - 11-09-2012 07:24 PM

I read that on an answer to this one question and I wanted to know if it was true? I have several teachers who I have as friends on facebook and they have tons of my friends, their students, added too.

No, the teachers that got fired for being on facebook got fired because they were PRETENDING to be students from school to spy on other students.
As long as the teachers are on FB as themselves, they cannot get fired.

It depends on what school it is

well it depends on your districts policies,at my old district they
didn't allow it,but at the school I'm at now they do..but I
wouldn't do it though, they'll know all your personal
business

They can actually. I guess thats getting too close to students. You might wanna un-add those teachers

I never heard that before. I guess if the school had that rule that no teachers could do social stuff with the kids then ya if the broke the rule. That seems kind of crazy though. Some of my teachers are really nice.

No, I don't think so, I'm friends with a teacher, and he's also friends with like half the school.
