he asked me out saturday night to be his girlfriend after about 4 months of seeing eachother. its now tuesday, i think hes trying to make it look like he hasn't been on facebook since then but i know he has. my friends are telling me that if he doesn't change it, it means he wants to still talk to other girls which i do not want to believe.... (we're 18)

Just say jokingly, "Hey buddy, still single? What am I chopped liver?"
If he makes excuses for why he shouldn't change it then you have your answer.

you do realize not everything has to be facebook official. if you think it is that big of a deal just say hey i was on facebook the other day and say your status still said single... i was wondering do you want to change it?

i don't think he wants to talk to other girls.. just tell him to and he hopefully wont mind

Just bring it up in a conversation one day. Ask him if he wouldn't mind changing his status so people will know y'all are together. And not all guys are trying to talk to other girls. He might be one of those guys who thinks it isn't that big of a deal. Just let him know how you feel about it but don't yell at him.
