How do i bring up to my boyfriend that i want him to change his relationship status on facebook?
he asked me out saturday night to be his girlfriend after about 4 months of seeing eachother. its now tuesday, i think hes trying to make it look like he hasn't been on facebook since then but i know he has. my friends are telling me that if he doesn't change it, it means he wants to still talk to other girls which i do not want to believe.... (we're 18)

Just say jokingly, "Hey buddy, still single? What am I chopped liver?"

If he makes excuses for why he shouldn't change it then you have your answer.

Just bring it up in a conversation one day. Ask him if he wouldn't mind changing his status so people will know y'all are together. And not all guys are trying to talk to other girls. He might be one of those guys who thinks it isn't that big of a deal. Just let him know how you feel about it but don't yell at him.

Some people just dont care about that kind of stuff.. I didnt have my ex change hers until some dude was flirting with her right there on her fb wall... After that I told her she needs to change it if shes going to encourage guys to do that kind of thing. But really he probably just doesnt care about fb... so dont be worried

Why are you checking his Facebook page? A bit creepy, don't you think?

I doubt he is doing that so he can talk to other girls. Guys just don't find that stuff important. It took my now bf of 3 years to a few weeks to do it and also a couple months to take his pictures off of him and other girls in bikinis he met at spring break. He most likely isn't thinking anything of it and just ask him to change it.

okai i'm 17 and can I say Facebook just reaaaally sucks!
and yeh I used to have it too.. so don't judge..
but you want to know why it sucks so bad ?
well let me tell you.
mainly.. because.. people care over internet profiles more then their actual relationships.
a lot of friendships/relationships get destroyed over facebook.. which could be reasons like this.. because the gf/bf doesn't change their status.. or because they heard rummours.. or because your gf/bf talks to a certain person a lot on facebook.. so then they're " cheating".. and so much more.
Basically I'm not telling you not to use it.. but what I'm trying to tell you is , don't get facebook involved in your private love life.

Tell him that because your status says single other guys flirt with you and ask you out all the time and if it changed to in a relationship they would back off.

Confidence is a total aphrodisiac. Remind yourself of that before confronting him about such a small detail, especially less than a week into the "official" part of your romantic relationship. And if you are feeling insecure, go buy some condoms together.
