I recently heard that there was a hacker on facebook and twitter. I wanted to check up on my facebook, but i am unsure if it is safe. I don't want to ecounter any viruses.

sometimes u have hackers...but its rare..also there is something called a fake facebook login page...which means...a page that looks exactly like facebook but when u put ur password it is stolen...the only way to check that is by making sure the page is called FACEBOOK not faceebook or facebok or anything like that suspicoius...so...be careful...but dont panic =)

In short, it is safe.
You can secure your information with personal settings on facebook so only selected people can view your information e.g, only your friends and people related to your friends.

All the hackers did was overload the server, they didn't hack anyone's accounts. It's safe to go there.
