I download a photo from a friends' facebook photos, to edit and make fun of it tomorrow at the school. I don't want my friend to know that I downloaded her photo. Will she receive notification or such?

Just open the photo on facebok right click it and click save as, That way they wont know at all

Open the photo, then drag and drop it to the desktop. he/she wont know.

Like Brock said, if you right click and then save as then they won't know next time.
