Plus there are a lot of public records, news reports, arrest reports, lawsuits etc that can be found simply by Google'ing your name. If they don't hire you based on what they may find - you're probably not going to get a lot of help. Unless you can prove it was based on discrimination, such as your race/sex/disability you're really not going to be able to do anything.
