How come people have both Facebook and Twitter accounts?
Don't they basically serve the same purpose? Can one do something that the other can't and vice-versa? Also if one does something that the other does PLUS more, why have both? Why not just stick with the one that does the most?

Because people think other people want to hear about everything they're doing, every second of the day.

Yes, you're right - they don't have the same purpose BUT both can be a powerful marketing tool for your business and you need to know the difference between the two. I guess it's only smart to keep both as many businesses are on both platforms - like when a 140 character tweet isn't enough, people can jump to your Facebook page to post more. That's just one of the many reasons.
