shares help,plz answer!?
my father had purchased 1000 shares from lotus inc,international management consulting group a few years ago and he has the official paper of purchasing the share,i would like to know some info on how he can claim it.actually it was not purchased by my father but someone who owed us some money gave it as a compensation as each share was worth a 100 rupees,please tell any way i can get the money i have the document of the purchase but my father doesn't know how he can go about doing this,

How can your father claim it if it was bought by someone else? What is the 'official paper of purchasing'. You either have a contract note or a certificate in your father's name. If you haven't got either of those you have had it.

If they are transferred to your father's name then what is the problem.
Is lotus Inc. listed company? or the the company has changed its name. are they quoted on any stock exchange? Does your father's name appears on the back of the share certificate mentioned as duly transferred. I think the company of the same name is in Hyderabad or Coimbatore You will get address just write in http://www.google.com name of the company you will get all the particulars including phone number enquire their about change in name.. |

I think your father was ripped off, there are no such company or if it where they may have gone bankrupt by now and the shares would be worthless, what you can do is go to a bank or a broker and see what they say.
