Yeah. Whatever you put online is public, so they have the right to see what you're really like. It's their prerogative.

Yes, even if you put "private" on your account it really is anything but, the site owns any information you put in it, not you.

Yes, you make the choice to be able to be viewed by the world by joining a social networking site so an employer has the right to view you just like everyone else does.
If you do end up taking stupid pictures of yourself then set your privacy options to something more appropriate. |

yes, just don't put anything up for public viewing that might limit your chances of getting hired.

Whether or not it should be done I have no opinion one way or the other. However, if it was somehow not allowed how would you enforce it?

Yes. It's no different than handing in a resume. An employer has the right to hire the best worker they can. That means things like a background check, a check of fingerprints, a scan of social networking sites, etc. Why would you not want your boss to know these facts about you, when you're willing to share that data with the rest of the world?

i think so.
if you are dumb enough to be posting how you do drugs, this or that... whatever whack ass crap you do, your company should be able to look at it. it cuts a lot of work out for the company. nobody wants a druggy drunk partier that can never show up to work on time! |
