How do I block apps from posting to my Facebook wall but still allow friends to post to my wall?

it has nothing to do with the timeline.... but you can easily block wall posts from individual apps...

just hover over the annoyance, and then click the icon that appears in the top right of that post - it will give you the option of hiding all posts made by that app
