Can wages from a second job be garnish because of default school loans?

Yes. They can take up to 15%, I believe.

What you have to do is TALK TO THEM. You must stay in touch. Always. Even if you can only give them $10 a month. It’s when you ignore it that things start going bad.

There are ways to get a forbearance, etc., but probably not after you’ve defaulted. If you haven’t defaulted, get on it. Call them. It never helps to ignore it.
