Can wages from a second job be garnish because of default school loans?
I have one full time job now and 50% of my check is withheld for child support. I know if I get a second job child support won't take out of it, but can student loans? I know they didn't take out of my first job because they couldn't legally because so much was taken out already. Thanks.

Yes they can, you need to figure out a way to pay your bills. Neither of these two will go away on their own.

Yes. They can take up to 15%, I believe.
What you have to do is TALK TO THEM. You must stay in touch. Always. Even if you can only give them $10 a month. It’s when you ignore it that things start going bad. There are ways to get a forbearance, etc., but probably not after you’ve defaulted. If you haven’t defaulted, get on it. Call them. It never helps to ignore it. |
