We have to accept that, if we put it out there in any way that is insecure or that can be connected back to us, it is effectively public knowledge. In being able to link back to us, even the stuff we purposely DIDN'T put out there becomes available to some people.
I worry about young people who give so much away, including nude pictures or confessions or angry rants. The young people will grow up and try to get jobs or university places and all that ancient garbage will remain available for anyone to search through. We all do stupid things but I suppose failing to ensure our internet security should be one we try to avoid. |
