Is doing something your parents don't allow a sin?

It is disrespecting your parents wishes. Perhaps they see it as trying to protect you in some way. It is not always a sin to be in disagreement with your parents. For example, if your parents were sinning and said what they were doing was not a sin, even though God has declared what they were doing to be a sin - then who is right? God of course. God tells us to honor our parents, and we do by doing what is right. If your parents told you not to read the bible, would it be a sin to read the bible? Of course not. You have to choose to do the right thing and use Godly wisdom in all situations.
