Facebook events notifications?

Are people notified when you remove yourself from an event? (Private or not)
I'm not well-acquainted with the people in an event, and decided to leave it altogether. Unfortunately, when you remove yourself you can't access the page again (Since it's a private event, I'm guessing). My question is, does it give anyone a notification, or does it say anything like "(Random person) has left the event" On the event wall/newsfeed?
