I have a facebook. I have the privacy settings set extremely private. Only people on my friends list are allowed to view ANY of my content that is posted. I Don't add anyone I don't know, just all close friends and family.

We don't live very close to our family anymore so it comes in handy in the way of being able to post videos and photos of our son for our family to view. You can also set the specific privacy for just a video or a specific photo album so that only the people on your friends list that you select can see that content, and not everyone on your friends list.

I think its all in the way that you handle it. If your privacy settings are very strict, and you only add people that you know VERY well. It can be a positive thing!

I have had a myspace, and I much prefer facebook. I would never post pictures of my family on myspace, its not as strict privacy wise as facebook.
