I had to go to a funeral for my friends mom and I didn't really know what to say so I waited until she saw me. Then I walked up to her and asked her if she was OK. She smiled, and said she was, and I gave her a quick hug, then some one else came up to talk to her so I was off the hook and planning my soon to be, exit. I hate wakes and funerals. I mean how many times do you have to say, or hear,( if your grieving) ...I'm so sorry for your loss...? I am not heartless. I just have been to too many wakes and funerals and there really is never one perfect thing to say. A smile and a hug are much better than words.
