All of this depends on some things. Such as what state you live in. I live in Pennsylvania and here you do have to have the permission of the mother to sign over your parental rights to a child and someone has to be there to pick them up. Ex. The mother has married and the step father wants to adopt the child.
The only other way to terminate parental rights is if you have done some criminal act and are no longer allowed to see your child. If you signed over your rights then no, you would not have to pay child support any longer, however, you may be made to pay child support up until that point in certain circumstances. |
