It is true that this is illegal without first seeking permission from a parent or guardian. In my opinion you are not being irrational it is your son and you have the right to decide such matters. I'm sure you're friends and family who have posted the pictures will be more than happy to remove them once you explain your concerns. However as the mother of a teenage daughter, I will say that as your child becomes older there will possibly be hundreds of pictures of them posted on many internet sites - e.g. facebook, bebo, myspace to name a few - posted by themselves & friends and shared amongst each other. It is a bit different as at 13 my daughter obviously has the ability to ask someone to remove them if she wishes, however in my opinion all we can do is teach our children the dangers the internet can bring whilst simultaneously allowing them the freedom to experience the many more benefits and enjoyment that it inspires.
