Just because something comes to an end, that doesn't make it a failure. Failure literally means a lack of success, and Capitalism has been very successful - it made the nations that practice it very wealthy.
Communism has been a failure, as no state that practised it has been truly communist, it's a nice concept but true communism is impossible on earth. North Korea calls it's self communist, yet it's hereditary leader lives a rich, extravagant lifestyle far beyond any of monarchs of Europe. You won't celebrate the end of capitalism, because you won't necessarily notice it's change, or evolution into something new. [Edit] That's a very dogmatic view, it really depends on your definition of 'wealthy'. Of course capitalism has made countries wealthy, and that is in part due to the very wealthy individuals... but then you've always had a wealthy elite. With or without capitalism. Fact is, it does work for those living in western capitalist nations; it's how life works despite the some peoples resentment, Norway is a brilliant example of that. Ads |
