Jesus was more of a free market capitalist in the respect he expected people to work hard and earn their own living and not be dependent on social governmental handouts. But since politics where not His thing, being part of any political viewpoint was not part of His being. He did state to give unto the government what was due them, but at the same token he expected mankind to care for each other from their hearts, such at tithing to the church, not redistribution of wealth through the government. He believed in PERSONAL charity, not government controlled giving. It is called free will, meaning a person has the free will to contribute to assist those in need. When the government takes away that free will of the people, this is no longer following His example or beliefs.
