How do I join Twitter without putting a picture of myself on my profile?

I am not that familiar with Twitter's privacy settings, but I'm fairly sure it doesn't require a picture to join. I had a Twitter for months before putting a picture on there, and the one I had now isn't even me - it's of my pets.
