Are members of the military discouraged by their commands from registering with Facebook or Twitter?

Not as far as I know. With the existence of the internet and social networking crap like Facebook, everybody stresses the importance of OPSEC (and I've seen a few Privates get in deep shit for violating OPSEC lately), but I, nor any of my buddies (some of which are SF), haven't been "discouraged" from creating social networking accounts.

Basically, they don't care if you have one, they just make sure you don't post anything you shouldn't on it.


BTW just ignore that Spamit Hered guy. Civilians trying to tell combat vets how we should feel is just plain dumb.
