How is the Free Market possibly going to solve any of the Major Social Problems that we have in America?

While I agree with you in general, it is also not entirely accurate to dismiss the free market as being without a place regarding social matters. For example, most of our greatest philanthropists are/were millionaires and billionaires as a matter of their success in free market. Without a free market system (capitalism) to generate the business growth, they would not have the capital necessary to fund schools, museums, medical facilities, research centers, etc.

Having said that, the Free Market is NOT going to solve any of our major social problems, because that is not their job, and the free market has become corrupt to the point that it exploits the vulnerability of average Americans, rather than striving to continue toward our growth. We need government to regulate our market so there is a balance between the haves and the have nots, American government is the conduit through which average Americans have a say in how our country is run.
