you have to be confident and be interesting, when I talk to a girl the conversation just flows naturally, if i find them attractive I just talk to them if they don't seem interested or have anything interesting to say back to me it's nice to meet you, if they still want to talk to you they'll come and talk to you or maybe hand you they're number or whatever... Facebook, Twitter not a good place to start a conversation, try actually having a face to face conversation, it works, your expressions, your confidence can not be measured by text but by body language and expressions.
