What was being a teenager in the late 90s like?

I've always wondered, probably because I want to be a teenager in the late 90s. It seemed so much more simple, and being a teenager today, it seems like we have so much to keep up with (technology, phones, social media). And the clothes seemed a lot more laid-back, like you could wear anything and it could be acceptable. What was it like for you if you were a teen in the late 90s? Thanks
