You need a lawyer. In custody cases, it is very rare that they will choose the Father over the Mother. In order for a man to sucessfully win custody he must demonstrate to the court that he has a better job and is better off financially, is free of mental issues or addictive behavior, i.e. drug and alcohol use etc. In addition you cannot have any record of any domestic violence, spousal abuse, incarceration, etc. It must be clearly evident that the children would have a better environment in which to thrive and be healthy. It is a very thorough process of evaluation that takes a very long time and involves not only the courgs but social workers and child protective services. An attorney will walk you through the process and be your advocate.
