On facebook chat, some of my friends have mobile icon + timestamp, others have only mobile icon, why ?

no one really knows yet

the current theory is that those people either turned off their chat, logged off of their phone, or havent logged in for at least 12 hours

i doubt anyone will ever know the real answer until facebook publishes the truth about this mystery

until then, your guess is as good as anyones
