Do the police really monitor Facebook?

Not generally no. But it is widely believed (and no I don't mean a conspiracy theory) that when they investigate individuals they check their movements including their social networks for any kind of evidence or material that could be used as evidence later on. When I applied to become an officer in the UK they went through the process and told us that they would have to through Facebook and other personal things to determine what personalities we have and whether we literally fit the bill.

I hope I don't mysteriously disappear for telling people that... lol
