TOO MANY FRIEND REQUESTS?

Hi Wendy; see your question & am just giving my humble opinion. You said "since . FINDING FRIENDS/ FAMILY IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF FACEBOOK" and I have to disagree with you there.
I've gotten many requests but I will not join because it's gotten out of hand & I don't need another intrusion into my life. My son showed me his FB which he has but doesn't use & say a cousin or niece is on his, then all of her friends show up on my son's account as friends even though he doesn't even know them. It's like a virus that doubles with each person. I know families have gotten real info & located people from FB but mainly it's a place for people to publicize their lives. I don't understand their motives to make everything public. It's gotten so bad that my young nieces, nephews & other family members have all abandoned their accounts. I really don't think it's for finding family members at all. In fact, I believe most kids on it would be horrified if they knew that their parents saw what they put on /in it. They can view their kid's stuff through other members accounts & so much is just fiction and/or horrifying for parents to see. I don't recommend it and my suggestion would be to limit your FB activity if you want to still be on it. Just my opinion, of course.
