Can a facebook account that hasnt been used in a long time be deleted?

If you know the password to that Facebook account, you can deactivate it. Go into your account settings and then on the left hand side, I think you have to go into privacy settings or something like that. At the bottom, you can click on "Deactivate my account." You'll have to click on the reason that you are deactivating it and then click Deactivate again at the bottom. It asks for you to enter in your password for verification. Enter it in and then, you're done! The profile will still be there on Facebook but it won't appear in people's friend's lists. If you need to, you can reactivate your account just by logging in like normal but then you can follow the same steps to deactivate it.
