That is exactly why millions of Americans are afraid of guns. No public awareness equals no understanding, and people always fear what they don't understand. I truly have to wonder what they think a world without guns would be like. After all, the most violent time in human history was between 3000 BCE and 500 CE, well before the invention of gunpowder.
