My friend of 5 years will not pay me back. What do I do?

This is a hard lesson to learn.

It's never a good idea to loan money to friends, but, if you do, you need to get a written contract. No contract means no hope of getting it back in court.

Just cut off all ties with him. He's a loser, and you know it. You'll go far in life, and he has already peaked.

If he truly values your friendship, he'll come back around with the money. If he does, its your choice whether to let him back in but set some strong boundaries.

If he doesn't pay you back, then you know that you didn't have a friendship to lose in the first place.
