If on windows 5.1 (windows xp), 5.0 (windows 2000) and older, you'll have to enable the showing of hidden files in folder options, then navigate to X:\documents and settings\usernamegiven\application data\
Windows 6 (vista), 6.1 (windows 7), 6.2 (windows 8) and 6.3 (windows 8.1): Jump into folder options, enable hidden and system files, navigate to x:\user\users (or username given)\local\ (or \roaming\). Copy the profile to a USB disk/stick or memory card, then proceed to copying it to that folder on the new computer's hard disk. X:\ is the drive letter where windows installed, since it varies. Another suggestion is, clean installing windows on the current machine. This will fix everything up, or rather using linux mint if you only use it to surf the internet and all that related stuff. You really don't need to use windows if it's only a few things. |
