Small Business Advertising -- What has worked for you?
Hi I work for a small Dry Cleaning business in New York and we are trying to do some advertising. We have two locations, and there are probably 4 other dry cleaners in our town. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what kind of advertising we should do. We currently have a website and a myspace page, we do advertising in the yellow pages and penny saver, we hand out fliers and give lots of coupons. We also offer discounts to teachers, students, police, fire, etc. We have also sponsored a local cheerleading team.
Most of our customers are repeat customers, and we are trying to bring in NEW customers. Does anyone have any experience with radio advertising or commercial advertising? If so, did you see a good return on your investment? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! oh i forgot to mention we always advertise on craigslist too, offering 10% off when you mention our ad, etc. i really like the idea about a free dry cleaning if they refer another person to us! thanks! any other creative ideas? i'm fresh out! we are only trying to promote locally, within 0-15 miles of our store. it makes no sense to promote any further as not many people are going to travel any further to get their dry cleaning done. but what would we say in a youtube video?? i don't think people are going on youtube searching for local dry cleaners...
