It isn't weird to message him at all! It is always good to start simple, ask him about a track meet the times or who it is against ect. But remember the more you talk to someone online the harder it can get/feel to talk to them face to face. I think it is good to talk to him personally first, then it might be easier to joke around and understand the tone of the messages on Facebook and so on. But it isn't weird for you to message him, but try talking to him face to face so it doesn't get/feel awkward later on! Good Luck!!! Smile
