IPv6 :Internet Protocol (IP) defines how computers communicate over a network. IPv4 contains just over 4 billion unique IP addresses, which were completely allocated to specific geographic regions on February 3, 2011. As the Internet transitions, organizations must adopt IPv6 to support future business continuity, growth, and global expansion(http://www.cisco.com/web/solutions/trend...ndex.html)
Think IPv6 as an extension of IPv4. 128 bits 2128, or approximately 3.4×1038 addresses, or more than 7.9×1028 times as many as IPv4, which uses 32-bit addresses. IPv6 will be the replacement of IPv4, which until feb 2014 carried the vast majority of traffic. with this said my friend, you dont really need ipv6 connection to reach the internet. if your computer says you do have ipv4 connection but not ipv6, you might have "disabled" ipv6 connection in your computer.
