Why should we pay for internet when there are tons of ads in almost every webpage?

Because the websites aren't supplying you internet connectivity, your ISP is. And the ISP has nothing to do with those websites. Those websites are separate, and require funding in other ways, so without directly forcing you to buy something or donate, ads are the next best thing.
