Problem with sharing Internet connection?

trying to visualise this set up.
as i see it, you would need 2 network cards on the lappy (one in, one out to internet)
awkward, as conflicts could arise and if you do not know how to cure them...you are b@uggered.

as already noted, a simple router is by far the easiest solution.
they normally have 4 RJ ports so if you need to extend your home network you can.
the router can be wired or wireless, with wireless you have both options but i would advise sticking with what you have for now and use the wireless option once you know how to lock it down securely.
with a router, there are no 'drivers', there will be a browser based set up screen...add the log in and password from your isp and that is really all you need....other settings can be learned later so dont get confused, it is simple.
