is it possible to hafve 20mpbs(megabytes) download speed? What is the average download speed in USA?

To clear things up, there is a difference between Mbps and MB/s. Mbps stands for Megabits (not bytes) per second. MB/s stands for Megabytes per second. There are 8 bits in a byte. Network/internet speed is measured in bits. You can convert one to the other by multiplying/dividing by 8. So 20mbps is actually 2.5MB/s.

It's possible to get 20Mbps; in fact, the average connection speed in the US is 20.57Mbps. My phone gets anywhere between 15-25Mbps on 4G LTE. Most ISP's offer speeds faster than 20Mbps, but at hefty premiums. Google Fiber offers Gigabit speeds (1 Gbps = 125MB/s) for $70, while Comcast will offer a 25Mbps connection for $30/mo, but will go up to $43-$65 after 12mo promo period, depending on area..
