Unless they provide some way to make the new format work better on an actual computer, I might end up being one of those who abandons the site when there is no longer a way to escape the "upgrade."
On the blog post stating they intend to roll it out to all the International pages of Y!A it claims a new "feature" is that the purple format is "optimized for mobile." What that really means is that they are forcing a tablet-oriented format on people with real computers, which is a significant downgrade in usability. They seem to be jumping onto the same anti-computer bandwagon that Apple and Microsoft have been pursuing, dumbing the interface down so that it works with a finger-painting input system. If they don't give some thought to those of us who still use keyboards and mice, then I am just going to go elsewhere, along with my clicks and advertising revenue. Ads |
