When I was in college, I was given advice not to get an undergraduate degree in sociology. Someone with an undergraduate degree in sociology even advised me against it.......based on the career goals I told them I had. Sociology is a very general degree.

As you know, we live in a competitive job workforce......gone are the days when any college degree would be fine and employers were fine with the fact that you just had a "degree".

If you only had a choice of psychology or sociology, go with psychology. You will have a better chance of finding entry level positions with a psychology in positions working with clients.
