What is an E#/Fb fingering on flute? or an alternate name for the note?

You are looking for the term enharmonic. ( e sharp is enharmonic to f ). The missing black key on the piano gives you the half-step necessary to the major key of C.When playing other scales the sharps and flats are added to create the steps and half steps of the diatonic scale.
