Not at all, in my opinion.
I don't have one, because I don't want one. Period. People have tried to convince me to sign up, (even my mom is on FB!) but I just politely decline, and tell them I'm not interested. I think Facebook is boring, honestly, and I'm not interested in wasting my energy on it. It's just another set of passwords to remember, and I have ENOUGH passwords as it is! If I really want to talk to someone, I'll call them on the phone, or something. You should NEVER feel "required" to have something, even if people try to tell you otherwise. Don't give in to peer pressure, and you'll feel much better about yourself.
