Here are some tips about how to find singers:

Get an audition space. Before you can hold an audition, you will need audition space. If you still go to school, you can ask to use the auditorium or music room for the auditions. You can also use a dance room or dance studio. Or you can use your house.

Create flyers or posters about the position. State that you are looking for a singer. It's also a good idea to state which genre and age range you are looking for. You also may want to put a number for people to call if they want to audition, just to know about how many people you will be auditioning.

Depending on the place you are holding auditions, you can have them audition in front of you only or in front of the others looking for a spot too.

On the first day of auditions, have the vocalists come with a song that they choose. Tell them they can either sing a-capella, with a karaoke version of the song they are singing, or they can play an instrument while singing. Also give them a form to fill out with their contact information.(name, e-mail, phone number, etc)

While they are singing, check off the qualities they meet.

When everyone is done, thank them for coming and tell them you will give them a call if you want them to audition once more.

Select about five singers you want to come back to audition again.

Call them back and tell them you will e-mail or text them a song to sing.It can be an original song, or a song that will show they're vocal potential.

The last day of auditions have them sing the song.

After everyone is done, don't send them home but have them wait while you decide on which singer.

When you have chosen, go back with the others and tell each one good qualities you saw in them. Make sure not to criticize anyone or make them feel bad.

Here are some tips about promoting your music:

If you can, get feedback from respected people in the industry first. Build relationships with producers and ask them if they like a track. Once at least 60% of them think it's worth sharing, take that as a go-ahead because producers will be more critical than your fans. Remember that you have to take the time to build these relationships first.

Check out a music feedback service such as Soundout, which can help you share your music with other listeners and get feedback just a few days later. This is a great resource if you don't have as many connections in the professional world, or if you care more about getting in touch with potential fans than producers.

Though promoting your music is the most important thing, you have to realize that you're promoting yourself as well. You should see that you're not just a musician or a band member but that you are a product. This product has to be as appealing as possible, so you have to find a way to make your brand as unique and exciting as you can so that fans are excited about you and your music

Know your target audience. Even the best music can get the worst response if it's in the hands of the wrong fanbase. If you're into Techno music, learn to tell the difference between Deep House, Tech House, and Electro. Understand what type of music you're really creating and who that type of music appeals to most of all. This will help you reach out to fans, book the right venues, and sell your music the right way.
