Is it weird to randomly message a girl?

Basically, there is this girl that really like from my church. I usually see her once or twice a week and we talk a bit - not lots though. I have never chatted to her on Facebook before however I really want to, to be honest. She liked my latest status update (which only got seven likes ). Would it be weird for me to randomly message her and, if not, what should I say?

I think she likes me a bit because she looks at me differently to other girls, we both have the same favourite animal, she knows I love guitar and she plays flute, I'm a year older and I would call myself popular at school, I am, I think, a bit more at church though. I don't have her number atm , how could I get that because is it weird to ask her this late?

For one, you know her in real life so no it's not weird to randomly message her at all. Especially considering you go to school and church together and it sounds like you have some things in common or at least know some stuff about each other. So just message her saying hi. You could ask her how she is, maybe even mention that you two have never really talked before and you'd like to get to know her. She'll be flattered by the attention and also think you're sweet for being so friendly After you've struck up a conversation you can always bring up how she plays flute, or church, or something like that.

You never know till you try, maybe she is waiting for u to make the first move and inbox her. I'd say just inbox her on fb and say Hey and just have a normal conversation with her like u would with your other friends. Make sure not to do alot of winks because then she will think your flirting with her and it might make her feel uncomfortable.
