How can I make my gay best friend stop loving me?

I have been friends with him for 6 years now and a couple of months ago he told me and our friends that he is gay. I did everything to support him when his parents called him names and the kids in school bullied him and after he was heartbroken by his gay facebook partner he called me to meet up with him. And then he just cried in my arms and complained about how stupid guys are and he was shaking... (I'll have to point out that he hadn't done anything with that guy.. They hadn't even met each other from close)

One day after his break-down infront of me I decided to take him out with a couple of friends in order to make him feel better and he was all over me all night long, hugging me, telling me I am beautiful and crappy romantic things. That wasn't the weirdest part of the night...

He told one of my friends that he wanted to kiss me and I was curious... I though he would never do it.... But he did !!! He said he wants me to be with him forever and that I have a beautiful soul... He even bought me a gift the next day !!!

I told him I couldn't accept it because I wasn't in love with him and now he is heartbroken... He is being mean to everyone and he is staring at me in class.... But sometimes he pranks me or yells at me for no reason in order to get my attention and then when we are alone he tells me he is comfused and that he is not sure if he is gay.... So... Does he hate me? or still love me? ...
By the way.. I am a girl and my gay friend is a guy... Just to make it clear.

It could be he will turn out bi sexual. But you need to tell him that he does not need a mate more than he needs his own self esteem. Tell him he needs to put his focus on himself before he puts it into a relationship with a partner. Tell him the best way to build his self esteem is to continue to educate himself. And make plans as to how he will achieve self independence before he ad's another to the challenge of life.

Well, you did kind of lead him on by allowing him to hug on you and the like, now you can either try to save the friendship or lose it.... You should talk to him, tell him your straight (if you are) and that you want to be supportive of his lifestyle BUT he has to respect yours as well. If he can NOT accept it then you need to tell him to back off and go away, respect goes both ways and you don't want to be part of any of his drama.

it's hard when a good friend that is like your brother is in love with you. but you can tell him that a relationship may work and may not so you care so much more about him and your friendship to ruin it with a relationship that may not work. because after a love relationship things can never be the same. just tell him how much he means to you as a friend.
