A year later my ex contacted me?
long story short. my ex and i have known each other for 4 years. we talked on and off and in dec 2012 we stopped talking. he got a gf. blah blah blah. then just recently of dec. 2013 he poked me on facebook and messaged me apologizing and saying he misses me. he even gave me his number. it clearly states on my profile that i am in a relationship.
so what are my ex's real intentions? could he be lonely?

please help. im so confused by these mixed signals.

He may feel lonely due to dumped by his new gf.
But, he is a floating guy for new girls.
He will continue serching or changing gf.
Therefore, never accept him.

Well, since your asking this question I have came to the conclusion that he still crosses your mind sometimes? I mean.. I have an ex where it will never work out be he still holds a place in my heart kinda thing? Nevertheless, he probably is lonely and needs someone to lean on. If you care about him (not saying you want to be with him but saying on a you don't want anything bad to happen to him factor) I would recommend making sure everything's okay. Be kind and understanding. Maybe he just needs closure. Tell him you are currently in a relationship and that you can't reciprocate the feelings he has. If he's a good person I feel like he'll respect that.. If he really isn't over you had might have so hard time accepting that. Bug like I said its closure for him.. And for yourself also.. I'm not implying that you aren't over him. But clearly he hasn't accepted it's over with you. I don't know why had waited so long to get in touch. Perhaps he was reminiscing. Or maybe he realized he loved you after letting the relationship go. Hope I was helpful- I'm not a guy so I don't fully understand their intentions.

if you are happy in the current relationship then please avoid him and say no to him clearly. otherwise your life will be difficult and you will face some critical situation when your current boy friend will get tom know about this.

Why do you care? Like you said, you are "clearly in a relationship". This should only be an issue if you still have a torch for him. Do you?
