Facebook notification help!?!?!?

Facebook notification help!?!?!?
I just got a facebook and i dont get any notifications of comments friend request or nothing. I went to the see all thing and fixed it and it worked for a little bit but after i log off it doesnt work and its really pissing me off. can someone please help me? and if it matters i have a hp mini laptop.

click on the notification box on the bottom right hand corner. there is a section that says "show notifications". edit everything there. and when you get friend requests, it shows it in the top right hand corner.
